CB&S Frottage

Risograph printed artist book. Published in an edition of 100 by Spudnik Press Cooporative in Chicago on the occasion of Noah Breuer's solo exhibition "CB&S Werkstätte."

12x9 inches

Breuer has lead several participatory Rubbing Workshops in which attendees are invited to collaborate with the artist and produce new artworks inspired by the CB&S factory's domestic textile designs. Participants use the laser-engraved surfaces of custom-built table-tops to make wax rubbings on vellum. Collaborators work together to reanimate the assembly line style production of the original factory, and imbue it with a sense of improvisation and play. These workshops also reflect Breuer's inquires into authorship, appropriation and labor, inherent to his work. The designs in this book derive from rubbings made collaboratively in these workshops.
